Antonio Carlos Garcia de Souza joined Ulhôa Canto in 1985 and became a partner in 1991. He graduated from Universidade Candido Mendes-UCAM in 1984 and is a specialist on tax law, with emphasis on administrative and court litigation.
He was coordinator and professor of the Special Tax Law course at Universidade Cândido Mendes–UCAM, in 1995 and gave lectures on courses organized by the Associação Brasileira de Direito Financeiro – ABDF.
International publications, such as Chambers Global, Chambers Latin America, and Legal 500, often acknowledge him as a reference in Brazil in matters regarding tax law, with emphasis on court litigation, with broad experience in tax consultancy.
He has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo Chapters, since 1984 and 1990, respectively. He is also a member of the Associação Brasileira de Direito Financeiro – ABDF, and of the International Fiscal Association – IFA. His native language is Portuguese and he is fluent in English.
