Daniel Soares


Daniel Soares joined Ulhôa Canto in 1995 and became a partner in 2008. He graduated from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ in 1997 and is a specialist on infrastructure projects in several segments of the industry, contractual law, sanitation, arbitration and administrative and corporate law.

He was a foreign associate at New York’s Simpson Thacher & Barlett, from 2000 to 2001, and he was also the author of a number of articles published on national and international legal publications regarding legal matters related to the infrastructure and arbitration sectors, among other topics.

International publications, such as Chambers Global and Chambers Latin America, often acknowledge him as a reference in matters regarding infrastructure projects in Brazil.

He has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Chapter (OAB/RJ), since 1998, of the Comissão de Relações Internacionais of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Chapter  and of the Associação dos Advogados Do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – AARJ. His native language is Portuguese and he is fluent in English and French.
