Pedro Vianna de Ulhôa Canto joined Ulhôa Canto in 1998 and became a partner in 2016. He graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro – PUC/RJ in 2000 and obtained his LLM degree in International Tax Law from New York University in 2006. He is a specialist in corporate law, capital market and in tax law matters, including consulting, and administrative litigation in income tax matters concerning domestic and international transactions, especially in the financial and capital markets.

Pedro was a foreign associate at Cleary, Gottleib, Steen & Hamilton in New York City, from 2006 to 2007. He is also the author of a number of tax articles in domestic and foreign publications, such as: “Cahiers de Droit Fiscal International” (at International Fiscal Association), “Tax Notes International” (at Tax Analysts) and “Tax Management International Forum” (at Bloomberg BNA).

He has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Chapter – OAB/RJ, since 2001, as well as a member of the Brazilian Financial Law Association – ABDF, and the International Fiscal Association- IFA. His native language is Portuguese, and he is fluent in English.
